Just beyond Hood River and 100 miles from Portland and Bend lies Dufur, ORE, pop. 643, est. 1893, and your new Bucket List #1. Between our charm, welcoming spirit, and arguably the best views of Mt. Hood, (okay and our quirky-cool name), you’ll be a Dufur booster in no time.
Dufur is for adventurers: head out for all the “ings” you can dream of — cycling, skiing, fishing, rafting, hiking…and be back in time for dinner. Just a hop from Hood River and the Columbia Gorge, we’re your base station for Oregon’s outdoor playground.
Dufur is for foodies: century farms, wheat ranches and mills, fruit orchards, wineries and Oregon’s largest certified organic produce company are right here. Many of these welcome curious visitors.
Dufur is for history buffs: Barlow Trail? Check. Pioneer Museum? Check. An old bank vault now filled with nothing but antlers? You bet. That’s how we do things in Dufur.
Dufur is for recharging: Sometimes the best vacations include doing absolutely nothing. Find a quiet spot to stare at our undisturbed view of Mount Hood and the acres of green to golden wheat rippling in the wind. It’s better than yoga.
Come visit and find out what we can Dufur you!
“What Can We Do For Dufur” is a lose-knit, voluntary group of individuals in the South Wasco County area dedicated to improving the business climate and ensuring that our area is a good place to live, work, visit and raise a family. All are welcome to participate.
